Camp Mode Security Changes
Tesla's current Model 3 and Model Y manuals state that Camp Mode disables Sentry Mode and the vehicle alarm, and Walk-Away Door Lock does not operate while Camp Mode is active. Lock the car deliberately before sleeping inside.
Camp Mode, Pet Mode, and Keep Climate On
Camp Mode is intended for remaining inside the vehicle. Pet Mode is designed to maintain a comfortable cabin for a pet while the owner monitors the vehicle, and Keep Climate On maintains cabin temperature while the vehicle is parked. For sleeping in the Tesla, Camp Mode is the appropriate setting.
Window Covers and Light Control
Camp Mode controls cabin temperature, but it does not provide privacy. Window covers block outside views and reduce light leaks from the touchscreen, phones, and cabin lights.

Weather changes how hard the climate system has to work. In hot weather, shade and sunshades can reduce heat entering the cabin. In cold weather, insulated window covers and adequate bedding reduce heat loss through the glass and sleeping area.
Set a comfortable temperature rather than an unnecessarily extreme one, and check the battery before going to sleep.
Campgrounds and Overnight Stops
Decide where you are staying, whether overnight parking is allowed, and where the next charging stop is before making the bed.
At campgrounds or other locations with electrical service, use only compatible charging equipment and connections intended for the available outlet or charging equipment.
